Integration

The County Administrative Board is the government's representative in the county with the aim of collaborating with other bodies in order to achieve the national integration policy objectives.

 

The national integration policy objectives are:

  • Equal rights, obligations and opportunities for everyone, irrespective of ethnic or cultural background.
  • A community founded on social diversity.
  • Social development, characterised by mutual respect for differences, which takes place within the boundaries set by fundamental democratic values in society and where everyone, irrespective of background, is involved and is mutually responsible.

 

The integration assignment of the County Administrative Boards

The County Administrative Boards:

  • work to ensure that there are contingency plans and the requisite capacity in each county to receive and introduce newly arrived refugees
  • discuss and reach agreement with the municipal authorities on receiving refugees
  • develop co-operation between municipal authorities and other public authorities in the county with regard to accommodation, introduction and rapid assimilation into the labour market

 

The County Administrative Boards' democracy assignment

The County Administrative Board shall ensure that personnel concerned have good knowledge of human rights.

The County Administrative Boards have formulated a common strategy to counteract discrimination.
