Food control

The purpose of food control is to ensure that the food that you eat is safe and that eating it does not make you ill. The municipal authorities check that those who produce and sell food have sufficient know-how and suitable premises to handle this. Together with the National Food Administration the County Administrative Board makes municipal visits to ensure that the municipal authorities handle the control process effectively. We also provide advice to the municipal authorities. We arrange, together with the National Food Administration, training programmes for food control personnel and we take part in project-oriented food control within the municipal authorities.

If you wish to appeal against a decision reached by a municipal authority in a food control matter you should contact the County Administrative Board.
