Applying for a grant and a permit

The County Administrative Board can issue and assist with different grants for commercial fishing and fish conservation. At the County Administrative Board you can apply for a permit to farm fish and crayfish, for fishing supervision and for a permit to plant fish and crayfish (because the species has been wiped out or the stocks are depleted).

Receive advice

The County Administrative Board can provide fish conservation organisations and fish farmers with advice on different development issues. We work to bring about

• robust fish stocks
• commercial fishing that is sustainable in the long term
• rich and varied angling opportunities.

We are also responsible for the physical restoration of the watercourses in the county, i.e. to restore the water to the condition it was in before it was affected by human actions.

The County Administrative Board provides information about fishing regulations and facts about fishing in the county in consultation with the Swedish Board of Fisheries. In a number of counties you can find a map-based interactive angling guide on the County Administrative Board website showing details of fishing waters, fish species, sale of fishing permits etc.
