Chief guardian
Each municipality has a chief guardian or a chief guardians' committee. The chief guardian ensures that a person's assets are used for his or her benefit and are invested securely. The County Administrative Board is the controlling body for the chief guardians in the county.
The Chief Guardian shall ensure that the assets of an individual person are used for his or her benefit and that the assets are invested securely and produce a reasonable return.
The County Administrative Board is a supervisory body for chief guardians in the county. In each municipal authority there is a chief guardian who ensures that the guardians, administrators and trustees discharge their duties. This means that the County Administrative Board inspects the chief guardians at regular intervals and also investigates complaints against them.
If you have a complaint about how a guardian, administrator or trustee discharges his/her duties you can contact the chief guardian in your municipal area. If you have a complaint against the chief guardian you can contact the County Administrative Board.
According to the Parental Code there should be a chief guardian or chief guardians' committee in each municipal area.
